"When I work with someone as their coach, I become part of their team and support from their corner. I walk alongside them, encouraging and challenging them as needed, with my full attention.."
"Ashley asked questions that while simple in theory, I had to think deeply to answer"
As a coach this is one of my favourite pieces of client feedback.
From a departmental head in the creative sector, it captures the essence of my practice:
Simplicity and Depth.
When I work with someone as their coach, I become part of their team and support from their corner.
I walk alongside them, encouraging and challenging them as needed, with my full attention.
Whether their aim is to strive for excellence, to push themselves to perform with more impact and work at the edge of, or beyond, their comfort zone.
Or, their aim is to challenge their own mindset and self-awareness, to examine their beliefs and assumptions, and become the version of themselves they would like to be.
In every case I aspire to support my client in their growth and chosen outcomes.
In the sessions, the client brings themselves just as they are and where they're at.
And I meet them there, bringing the best version of myself with an open mind, a positive outlook and a calm and patient presence.
My Approach
Through a conversation and a straight-forward and clear approach, I aim to create a safe and confidential space, which allows my clients the chance to express themselves without judgement, and to explore their intentions at a depth that they wouldn't ordinarily reach on their own.
My Values
I value credibility and integrity in whatever field I work, and choose to align my coaching practice with the ethical guidance of the International Coaching Federation and support this with a qualification in Executive and Senior Level Coaching and Mentoring from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
My Background
The values and skills I bring as a coach are deeply rooted in me and have grown over a 25+ year career working in the creative sector. This work has its foundations in storytelling. In many ways I see coaching in a similar light. My work supports my client to tell their own story, in their own words and on their own terms
I was born and brought up in South Cumbria on the edge of the English Lake District and have called Scotland home for more than 20 years.
